BBS stands for Bike Building Story and today we talk about @hams :bicyclist: Cannondale CAADX

11 apr

How was the bike at first and :world_map: :round_pushpin: where did you find it?

11 apr

I found the CaadX in one of those GumTree like websites. The bike had Brooks saddles, mudguards, bags and other touring accessories. The price for it was fairly high for what I was expecting to pay for the bike. So we negotiated, eventually we agreed in removing some of these parts which I was going to take off anyway. So it arrived as shown

What usage did you build it for?

11 apr

I built the bike for commuting and for gravel riding.

11 apr

Could you tell us how did you :hammer_and_wrench: build it?

11 apr

From the beginning I put a temporary -17º 110mm PRO LT stem and a really generic saddle.

Slam that stem!

A couple of months later I had it painted in gloss dark grey with black decals and matte black fork.

Painting..

A few days later I replaced the stem with a Thomson -17º 110mm, a San Marco Ponza saddle, a new Shimano Ultegra 11-30 10 speed cassette, Crankbrothers Double Shot 3 pedals, and the Challenge Grifo Race 33c tyres.

Is there any :zap: new build you're working on?

11 apr

There is my other Cannondale bike, which is a Caad9 and it is posted in Saddl.com, but this year I want to get the Limited Edition BMC ALR01 frameset.
